Noble Energy’s Alen natural gas project offshore Equatorial Guinea remains on track for a 2021 start-up.

The project’s offshore pipeline installation, which will span 43 miles and have the capacity to transport 950 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, is on schedule for Q3 2020, with final hookup and commissioning being implemented in late 2020.

The Alen gas project remains one of the few major African energy projects on schedule for completion, as continues to cut investment for capital-intensive projects,

The Alen field carries estimated recoverable reserves of approximately 600 billion cubic feet of natural gas. Gas from the field will be fed to the onshore Punta Europa gas complex, which houses LPG, methanol and processing facilities, in an effort to create an offshore LNG hub in the Gulf of Guinea.
